It is important to plan and implement an effective agronomic program that enhances the quality of the golf course conditions to exceed the level of expectations by the membership. The agronomic practices I incorporate include cultural, pesticide and fertilization, and water management programs coupled with irrigation system upgrades.
Philosophies
– Strive to have course look & play the same Sunday to Sunday; Consistent playing
conditions are my first priority
– Agronomic style reflect simplicity where less is more; work to limit inputs required to turf.
– Advocate for utilizing new and/or different techniques and cultural practices to continuously
train the grass to become more self sufficient.
– It all starts at the maintenance building -- if the shop is clean and organized, it reflects
onto the course.
– Good Superintendents become great because they focus on pushing the grass to create
firm and fast conditions while understanding when to back off according to weather and
other critical factors.
